What Our Dreams Really Mean

7 Crazy Dreams We All Have & What They're Really Trying To Tell Us

The Hidden Meaning Behind Our Dreams

Have you ever woken up from a crazy dream wondering why you had it or what it means? Well, dreams aren’t as blackand white as they may seem. They each have a deeper psychological meaning behind them.

We all go through what is known as “sleep cycles.” Each cycle lasts approximately ninety minutes. During this time, our bodies are working to keep our muscles relaxed and our brain activity low. This would allow us to fall into a stage of deep sleep known as “REM” or “rapid eye movement.” When one reaches REM (at the end of his or her sleep cycle), he or she will begin to have extremely vivid dreams, which display for us the content of our subconscious. These are the dreams that we often find ourselves remembering in the morning. Many people think that their dreams are completely random and meaningless, but in fact, they would be wrong.

Here are some of the most common “strange dreams” that people have and what they actually mean:

1. Taking A Test

Have you ever had a dream where you were taking a test and didn’t know any of the answers? Lots of people do, many of who are grown adults who aren’t even in school anymore. This dream actually means that you’re experiencing a lack of self-confidence.

2. Being Cheated On

Have you ever had a dream where your significant other was cheating on you? Well, what your subconscious is trying to explain to you through this dream is that you’re lacking trust.

3. Naked In Public

Have you ever had a dream where you were naked in public? This means that you’re currently feeling self-conscious, vulnerable, and scared of being judged.

4. Falling

Have you ever had a dream where you were falling? This means that you feel as if you’ve lost control over something.

5. Being Chased

6. "I'm Late!"

7. Dying

Have you ever had a dream where you saw yourself or someone you love die? While this seems absolutely terrifying, rest assured that it’s not some type of crazy premonition or anything like that. What it really means is that something important in your life has recently come to an end. Graduating? Moving out? Going through a break-up? These types of events along with many others are what would typically trigger this dream.
