7 Reasons Universal's 'The Wizarding World of Harry Potter' is Better Than Ours
Orlando, Florida Muggles beware! Once you experience the Wizarding World, the real world is never the same again!
1. The Food
The "Great Feast Platter" (serving up to four people) is one of the most popular dishes in the Wizarding World. It's first course is a salad tossed in homemade vinaigrette and the second course is made up of rotisserie chicken, ribs, corn on the cob, mixed vegetables and roasted potatoes. For dessert, they offer "Potted Cream" which is a spin on Butterbeer. You can find this enchanting dish in Hogsmeade's "Three Broomsticks Pub." After having this, what even is muggle food?
2. Magical Drinks
In the Wizarding world, there is no such thing as "Coca Cola." All drinks are served cold or frozen, and both alcoholically and non alcoholically. The best part of each of these magically refreshing and unique drinks are that the names and recipes are directly plucked from the Harry Potter films and movies. To name a few: "Pumpkin Juice, "Tongue Tying Lemon Squash", "Otter's Fizzy Orange Juice", "Fishy Green Ale", "Peachtree Fizzy Tea", "Gillywater", "Dragon Scale" (only for Wizards 21 and over) and of course, Butterbeer!
3. They Have Butterbeer!
Butterbeer is the most popular selling item in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, selling over a whopping 5,000 mugs of it a day! The butterscotch cream soda is served cold, frozen, and hot! Want to drink like "the boy who lived?" You can pick up a Butterbeer from The Leaky Cauldron located in Diagon Alley, Three Broomsticks & Hogs Head Pub, as well as any of the Butterbeer stands located around Hogsmeade!
4. Wands Up! They Have Power In The Wizarding World.
Stop by "Ollivander's Wand Shoppe" and discover which wand is best fit for you! That's right, Potterheads, your wand really works in the Wizarding World. All wands come with a personal map of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, revealing secret areas that you can practice catching spells! Your wand doesn't work in the muggle world, unfortunately.
5. Robes Are Totally Appropriate Attire
In the real world, a grown up wearing a wizard robe to work or in public may be a little questionable. In the Wizarding World, its the norm. Need I say more?
You can pick up your house robe and supplies at "Madam Malkins Robes for All Occasions" located in Diagon Alley.
6. After You Take the 'Hogwarts Express' Transportation is Never The Same
Platform 9 3/4 exists! Take the Hogwarts Express from Hogsmeade Village to "Kings Cross Station, London" and find the hidden location to enter Diagon Alley! On the Hogwarts Express, listen in on Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger's train car conversations, and if you're into the dark arts, you may just see a Dementor or two.
A public bus will never be as exciting as this.
7. They've Got Their Own Wizard Currency!
To top it all off, the Wizarding World has its own currency. Take your Muggle dollars to the "Gringotts Money Exchange" and get your Knuts, Sickles, and gold Galleons! The best part, it is all valid in the Wizarding World. You can purchase your "Great Feast Platter", wands, robes, and Butterbeer with your Wizarding World riches! Plus, their bank is guarded by a fire-breathing dragon. Who needs a security system?
Way cooler than any other currency, ever.
